Despite recent coordinated efforts to remove the arts from our nation's schools, there remain some communities that cling to the unwholesome practice of teaching art to our children. Because music, theater, and other forms of art have no place in public schools, we urge you not to support organizations working hard to undermine efforts to purge these insidious art forms. Most recently, a little known organization called Kappa Gamma Psi Fraternity has come to our attention.
Kappa Gamma Psi is a co-educational performing arts fraternity. From June 1st - 10th it plans on raising funds to benefit "Americans for the Arts". This unsavory nonprofit organization advocates for the arts in chillingly effective ways. And worst of all, Kappa Gamma Psi intends to solicit YOUR help to support this cause.
Here are the sordid details:
1. From June 1st - 10th, various items will be auctioned through eBay Giving Works.
2. The proceeds will benefit Americans for the Arts.
3. The auction will feature items such as (details and restrictions on specific items will be announced later):
- Tea For Two at The Tea Leaf, in Waltham, MA.
- Two season tickets for the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra
- Used adjustable dumbbells
- A used TV/VCR
- A small set of collected coins
- An ornamental incense holder
- A beginner's lesson in computer programming
- A sophisticated toy robot

4. Kappa Gamma Psi will accept donations of additional items for the auction.

Do not be drawn in by their attempts to reason with you! Make it clear to these people once and for all that in this country, our children don't deserve the arts!
